9 Inferno Players Earn College Scholarships

Top: Brooklyn Armbruster, Morgan Carranza, Jackie Ireland
Middle: Emily Jowers, Kelly Lemke, Syeria Matthias
Bottom: Di Rubio, Macy Smith, Britt Woolington
The Inferno Class of 2018 has become the largest group to earn college scholarships in the history of the program. Once again this year, every player who pursued a college soccer career was awarded a scholarship for next fall.

Special appreciation also goes to our 2018 teammates who have chosen to finish their career with their high school team next spring. Thanks to Delaney Kramer and Helene Bjornsen for being such an important part of Inferno. Delaney will be attending the University of Kansas while Helene will return home to Oslo, Norway to finish her secondary education. It should be noted that both are excellent players who could have definitely played beyond high school if they wanted to.

Here are the college commitments for the fall of 2018:
  • Brooklyn Armbruster, Shawnee Heights High School - Johnson County, NJCAA
  • Morgan Carranza, Topeka High School - Johnson County, NJCAA
  • Jackie Ireland, Washburn Rural High School - Friends University, NAIA
  • Emily Jowers, Seaman High School - Lindenwood University, NCAA Division 2
  • Kelly Lemke, Washburn Rural High School - University of Nebraska-Omaha - NCAA Division 1
  • Syeria Matthias, Shawnee Heights High School - Hutchinson - NJCAA
  • Di Rubio, Hayden High School - Hutchinson - NJCAA
  • Macy Smith, Seaman High School - Hutchinson - NJCAA
  • Britt Woolington, Washburn Rural High School - Johnson County, NJCAA

A huge "well done!" to the Inferno girls who competed in the Kansas Rush Wichita Tournament this past weekend.

It was great to bring home the Championship Trophy and a good opportunity to work on things that we'll be taking into the final weeks of the season.

This team has accomplished so many great things this fall and everyone is very proud of each and every one of them!
